Enjoy a sumptuous three-course luncheon in this charming family-owned restaurant. Your cost is $30; your guest (and we hope you will invite at least one!) will pay $40, which includes not only the delicious lunch but also a one-year membership in our club from May 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018. The menu of the day will be presented to us at the restaurant. PROGRAM Your Board will bring you up-to-date on Club doings. But, most importantly, you’ll greet old friends, make new ones, swap tales (real or otherwise) and above all, have a good time.

Built as a summer villa in 1765 by British Col. Roger Morris and his wife, this historical site is Manhattan’s oldest building. Encompassing more than 130 acres, the estate stretched from the Harlem to the Hudson Rivers. During the Revolutionary War it served for a time as George Washington’s headquarters. In 1810, Stephen Jumel bought the mansion. We will learn about life in the 18th Century and take a look at the beautifully preserved and reconstructed rooms. Guided Tours are Sundays at 2:00 pm. We will meet between 1:30-1:45. How to get there: The C-train to 163rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue; take a rear car. Take Exit 161st & St. Nicholas. Walk past C-Town Super Market up to the stone stairwell on left side of St. Nicholas. At the top of the stairs is the museum entrance, directly ahead at the end of Sylvan Terrace.

Theodore Roosevelt, born in 1848, the first U.S. president born in New York, became the nation’s 26th president. The house has just reopened after lengthy repairs and restoration. We will visit five restored rooms furnished as they were when the family lived there. We will also see galleries of TR exhibits and a political cartoon collection. Tours are every hour. Let’s meet at 1:30 for the 2:00pm tour. We can watch some of the political cartoon collection beforehand. How to get there: Take the No. 6 subway train to East 23rd Street and Broadway. This incredible 1¼-hour tour starts at 12:30. With only 15 people per tour it’s important to come early. Tickets must be purchased before the tour starts at the Tour Window in the Main Concourse. The guide will talk to us about the architecture and social history of Midtown East. We will learn the secrets of the Whispering Gallery in GCT and much more.
